WFTDA Showcases Final Two Games of 2018 European Continental Cup on BBC Sport Website

On Sunday, October 28, the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) will be bringing the final two games of the 2018 European Continental Cup live to the BBC Sport website. The 2018 European Continental Cup is produced by WFTDA-member organization the Birmingham Blitz Dames and is the first WFTDA Cup event of its kind in Europe, showcasing the diversity and talent of high-level gameplay across the European region.

This weekend’s participating leagues include the event hosts Birmingham Blitz Dames, Newcastle Roller Girls, Dublin Roller Derby, Dock City Rollers, Central City Roller Derby, Tiger Bay Brawlers, Kallio Rolling Rainbow, and Middlesbrough Roller Derby.

These final two games starting at 3:30 p.m. GMT will run concurrently on the BBC Sport website in the UK, and for free on WFTDA.tv outside of the UK.

“As the sport of roller derby grows globally, it’s important for the WFTDA to build relationships with media outlets that serve our members beyond North America. The BBC Sport website has done a fantastic job of showcasing the sport of roller derby with other events in 2018. We’re thrilled to work with them on our first-ever European Continental Cup and bring our sport to new fans across the UK and beyond.”
